What's the best kind for the money and how hard are they to put on?

I like the hamby. You would probably be better off having it done by a pro/shop. It really needs to be a clean and warm environment for it to adhere properly.

Lake Fork Fiberglass runs a Hamby Special this time of year.
I think it's around $300 for a Hambyb's including installation

Check out Texas Boat World in Harker Heights, TX and get a Keel X. Its a sprayed on keelguard with lifetime guarantee. You get it as wide as you want it and as far back. It's the best for the price. It will not scar from rocks or boulders. I beach my boat anywhere and all I do is clean off the dirt.

There are two versions of the Hamby's. Get the heavy version. You will never own another boat without one.

KEEL SHIELD! My buddy and I installed it a couple of years ago. It took about an hour with his help. I have never had a problem with it coming off, although I only beach the boat occasionally. I have beached it on the ramp with no problem. Just go up slow. I bought it from a guy on the BBC; I talked to him on the phone and he gave me a lot of good advice. You just have to prepare the area well, per the directions, and you really need a helper to get it on straight.

For the money, the dealer installed Hamby's is the very best you can buy, and you'll never buy another.
You can try the rest or you can buy the best.

I installed the Keel Shield on my boat 10 years ago...Still as good as the day I put it on, and I beach my boat when I need to ...Just follow the directions exactly. I remember it took some time.

If you have the extra money, Hamby's is the best.. But I have a Keel Shield on, for 5 yrs with no problems..
AS with anything, follow the directions, they are directions for a reason..

I am obviously bias, but KeelShield is the best self installed protector on the market. Comes in 14 colors with a lifetime warranty against abrasion and adhesion to the original owner.
If I can answer any questions, please let me know.

Hamby professionally installed..well worth the $$. I currently have a KeelShield that I installed by myself with my teenage son on a HydraSport 2300CC ..heavy hull ..beach her often. The only difference between performance and overall experience is my time spent and the $$ I saved.
