1st post from a long time lurker.Let me first say this is a great forum with lots of good info, caught many a fish thanks 2 TFF.I love fishing the local creeks, but i have a bum knee so i have to use a boat or sit in one spot.My problem is at my local creek there is really only one spot i can get my boat in/out and some people dont think of others or dont care and leave there vehicle on the ramp(slope 2 creek)blocking everyone else.So please think of others and park out of the way.Thank you(sorry about the rant got blocked out today)

"So please think of others" Thinking of others has been lost in our culture.

Both my kids have developed flat spots on the backs of their heads with me trying to impress on them, the importance of the above quote!

that would make me mad. i once saw a bank fisherman have his lines run over by a bass boat that had just launched. They exchanged words then the boat pulled away. The bank fisherman took all his stink bait and shoved it down in the guys air vents between the windshield and the hood. He smiled at me and got his car and calmly drove away.

IMO, most of the bad conduct is just ignorance. Most don't deliberately block launch ramps or that kind of thing, they are just not thinking and no one ever told them. I don't condone such behavior, but will take every opportunity to educate.

bank fishing or ramp fishing? ramp fishing and boat launching do not mix, i would say the boat launcher has the right away. it is also posted that way on several ramps as well.

Usually people aren't out to get you, to intentionally tick you off. They don't realize what they'd done so a gentle kind word is often enough to get it corrected. You'd be surprised how nicely people respond to polite friendly requests. Good fishing, everyone.

I once watched a guy start his outboard on the ramp then proceeded to back down the ramp, while the outboard was running out of the water, buy the time he got the boat in the water his buzzer was going off, boat wasnt peeing and he then sat for atleast 20 mins on the ramp trying figure out what was wrong. I laughed as I floated away

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst

I found a truck sitting on a somewhat remote ramp in a public park one time, blocking it, and no one around. There was a cell phone sitting on the tailgate. I looked around, called out, looked around some more. Couldn't find anyone. I was about to call the law because I thought maybe something had happened to the person and he had drowned.

Then out from around some flooded mesquite trees comes this bassbuster with 2 guys in it giving me the stinkeye because I'm standing next to their truck. I don't know if they were watching me the whole time or what. I told them they left a cellphone sitting there and they just grunted. They gave no indication they were willing to move the truck, so I just left and launched somewhere else.

Must be nice to have such little regard for others that you can decide the boat ramp is your private property without conscience.

5 min could get somebody a whippin around these parts Seen many disagreements at the boat ramps especially when people are trying to get loaded before the storm hits.

Agree, the problem is, anyone can buy a boat or PWC and put it on the water. There is no training or educaiton requirements.

I am not fast by no means, bring a new boat owner, but one day i was in line to launch....probably about 10 trucks lined up waiting. this guy launches his boat with him and another guy in it and they just take off. I think he was trying to sell it, because they were gone for about 10 mins then came back pulled the boat on the trailer and left. Didnt bother me to much, but there was a bass fisherman trying to pre-fish and he almost sent their truck in after them....LOl
