Thanks Bobby, that is good to know. A better spec. write up in advertizing and unit manuals would be a benefit to owners.

Bobby,

Are you going to be at the Outdoor Show in January? I don't see you listed in the exhibitor list, but it may not be current.

Any plans for a dealer in the DFW area? Maybe Fun N Sun or Lake Fork Tackle?

At this link Fork is listed at 39.95...
http://www.shockwaverods.com/list-of-lakes

At this link Fork is listed at 44.95...
https://sites.google.com/site/gpslakemaps/fork-texas

Could you clarify the correct pricing?

You offer COMBINATION TOLEDO BEND & SAM RAYBURN for $74.95, do you offer pricing discounts on any combination of lakes, ie: Fork and Monticello?

BTW, its GRANBURY, not GRANDBURY. smile

Well I started this thread and felt an update was neccessary. I ended up getting the Navionics Platinum chip and although some of the structure I'd like to see isn't on it,and other critical lake info like the creek channels, the 3d mapping is pretty darn good. I dont believe its worth $189-$199 though.

Tommy still fishes professionally and his 2011 schedule is quite full. We only have one show booked in Baton Rouge which is the weekend before the classic. Another factor is that we are just getting started with this venture and we are still a very very small business.

We do have one DFW dealer lined up but he has not stocked up yet. I'll post when he does.

Many thanks for the heads up on the price discrepancy. I'm a novice part time website builder so it doesn't suprise there are not more. Sorry for the confusion.

The price is $44.95 for most single lakes. The T Bend Sam Rayburn combo is $74.95. We do combine smaller lakes if they are in close proximity to each but they are sold for the single lake price. Belton/Stillhouse is an example.

As for discounting for other lake combination, we are not set up to do that at this time.

Someone has already alerted me to the Granbury mis-spelling but obviously I missed one somewhere.

Thanks
Bobby

Thanks for looking into it Bobby. I knew those maps wouldn't be enough, I just hoped that maybe the proper info was somewhere within that organization.

2010 Navionics coupled with the GPS Lakes Maps, and the Lance VIck boat lanes has the potential to be a deadly combination! That, IMO, is the premium mapping you can have in your systems.

You have hit a home run. Neither EM or Lavon can be added to the GPS Lake Maps because they were both inundated prior to the USGS surveys. Lavon could be done for its second inundation but not the first. Not a lot of benefit in doing that unless you have a different perspective.

Sorry.

If it $44.95 for each one, man, I can't afford that for all the lakes I fish.

Try finding/following a creek channel on a Navionics map!

What good are 1' contours if they are not fairly close to correct?

I use the free Lowrance enhanced lake map most of the time. It doesn't have 1' contours but seems to me to more clearly depict actual the lake areas.

By the way, my Navionics Premium map card is 2006 vintage!

I think your issues might come from the 2006 chip. My 2008 chip is spot on for Fork. I have 1' contours on much of the lake, and can follow the creeks and roads pretty easily. I am using HB 997 though, that also might be the issue.

Chad, I'm inclinded to agree with you. My impression is that everyone considers the pre-2008 chips to be superior because they contain old road beds and creek channels that aren't on the newer chips. BUT the newer chips contain recently updated depth info (for many lakes) that is not on the older chips. Too bad the new chips don't contain both but the updated contour data is a great thing to have, and I've found it to be accurate on Cedar Creek. So either could be "best" depending on one's needs.

I just ordered one for Falcon. I spend five times the amount of the chip in diesel alone going down there and back! $45.00 is not a lot of money in today's world. Thanks for all the info.

Yes. I ordered the GPS Lake Map. I have a 2010 Nav. chip. I'll be down at Falcon next week. I'll let you know how it works.
