Nice catch Don! Are the fish that you kept and released looking a little better than the skinny ones that have been caught in the last couple months? Hope to be down south the next couple of weeks and hit Choke and Calaveras.Do you ever fish Brauning?

Waterman, I caught two that were skinny and looked twisted and deformed. All the rest were nice and plump. Do not fish Braunig much because it is an extra 20 mile drive from my boat shed at Calaveras.
I was pleased with the quality of today's catch.

big marv, hey good to here from you. been having good fishing on conroe with your bait. the last batch i got from you was thicker than the batch before. i like this batch better. if you changed it a little, i like it. more importantly the fish like it. sommerville, conroe, brazos river, fayette, it makes no diff. i need another batch from you??

Way to go, Marv....you need to get a camera and show us some of the results you get from that bait. I threw some of it in today when I ran out of shrimp, but only caught one. I don't think I use it right.
Someone mentioned that they cleared out a lot of the trees around the edge of Braunig.... Is that true?
btw, when you type in CAPITAL letters, it means you are shouting. People will think you are mad or unhappy about something, which we know you are not.

yeah Don I know what you mean about a 20 mile drive when gas was $3.00 a gallon thats part of the reason I have not traveled farther than Fayette in a while. But not complaining Fayette and sommerville treat me just fine. Thanks for the info BIG MARV I have never been to Braunig but plan on making it one of the four lakes I plan on visiting on my seven day vacation

Good job Don, I'm looking forward to putting a few in the boat myself. I'm starting to get bussy with the hunting guide thing and a couple of other business ventures I'm kinda messing with. Keep up the great fishing reports, and hopefully we'll be meeting up at the lake soon.

Man I miss Calaveras. I will probably hit it this week. I need to break the Pathfinder in on catfish. I haven't put one in her yet.

The algae on the boat ramps is really bad right now. Be very careful unloading your boat, especially on the deep water ramps. I heard of two vehicles sliding on in to the bottom of the concrete last weekend. I just traded in my two by for a 4X4 just to have the front wheels work for me.

Hey fellow San Antonio fisherman; I have been to both Braunig and Callaveras several times with little to no luck..I have an 18' Pontoon and try to get out every so often, but never really have luck...ANyone willing to give some good pointers or possibly get together sometime and head out there? Let me know! appreciate any tips and pointers you all toss my way...
