I'd like to go out to Fork for the first time tomorrow. I have a jon boat that I have made into a mini bass boat with casting deck. Where's a good place to put in and explore?

I was thinking of putting in at the bridge in Big Caney and working my way over to Little Caney. Sound doable?

Any tips to help a new bass fisher out? I really like fishing with plastics, I don't do real well with other baits yet.

Little Mustang for sure. Might try to put in up in Coffee Creek and fish in the creek channel in the back.

Thanks for the ideas. Is Little Mustang a good spot for me to go throwing a worm around the trees? Lots of places to explore in Little Mustang?

Remember I've never been on Fork, I've only fished Tyler the last 7 months that I've gotten back into fishing. Kind of overwhelmed at all the posts about Fork, they have all blended together and I can't keep them straight.

Thanks!

Great looking rig. I have rigged several that way and they are great boats as long as you respect there capabilities. Winds SSW 10-20 tomorrow so steer clear of the open water. Little Mustang has a ramp on the NW side of the bridge that will be a perfect place to launch.
Good Luck

Nice rig. I would stay out of the wind and not too close to the boat lanes and you should be fine.

Crazy?? No!, I put my buster in there every year. I like Williams creek. There is a Island, bridge, trees, docks, small coves, and points all within close range of the ramp. Good luck

Bass fishing is like a 30,000 acre golf course with no flags and five holes you can't see- Tim

I fished out of a small Two man boat for couple of years Did find just be aware of the weather, the wakes for those big boats, and remember to be safe. I caught lots of fish from that two man boat on Quitman, Winnsboro, Fork, Palestine, and more. Fished some tournaments in it.

be safe

Fishermans Cove is another good place that I have fished and had real good luck out of my little boat. Lots of small coves and of course trees smile

Just be careful 'cause wind and shallow underwater stumps are not too good on flat bottomed hulls.I've been hung-up in a flat bottom on Fork's little stumps,ha!Good luck fishing!
