My dad told me once that when he was a kid he dreamed of having a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun. He lived way out in the country and he said on the bus to school all the other boys would talk about their Red Ryder BB guns. His parents were to poor to buy him one, they were just poor old dirt farmers, mainly grew tomatoes. He did good for himself and has everything he wants plus some. The other day in Academy I saw the Daisy Red Ryder, I picked one up. So my 76 yr old dad is getting a Daisy Red Ryder for Christmas. 70th Anniversary Edition at that.

Good for you, that is a great story. No man should go through life not having owned a Red Ryder. I bet it will blow him away. thumb

I never got the Red Ryder. We were too poor. Had a Cub and my brother broke it. Your Dad will love it!

is it the black one.. My dad had one too, he saved coupons off of coffee bags for his, same thing, they were farmers. Dad used to trap and sell little baby squrrels for a few coins, and picked pecans to sell for things. Traditions run deep from fathers to sons,.. sometimes we dont even realize how much.. You guys will see what I mean in the pic im gonna post. One of the first gifts dad gave me was a BB gun, and one of the first gifts I gave my son,, was... a Daisy Buck with a scope I mounted on it for him. Only daisy buck in existance known to have been scoped. haha

One year in San Angelo where I grew up, there was a bumper crop of snails. for some reason the ones in our back yard decided to climb up on the wood siding. I used my Red Ryder to shoot them off the house. Lots of fun, but my dad was not happy with all the tiny dimples in the siding. I know I would be very happy to get another Red Ryder for Christmas- great idea!

so how many crappie do you shoot with it in a single outing and how deep were the crappie, do the bb's with the dimples get more crappie than the ones without dimples? come on man, give it up, is that a pump action and how many pumps does it take to get down to 18feet deep to take a crappie out, my trigger finger is gettin itchy
