FYI for anyone interested...This is not the first time a thieft has taken place in Long Branch. I have a trailer in Coon which is the southern most cove in this area and in August one of the trailers storage sheds was broken into with the loss of several rod and reel combinations along with some tackel boxes plus other gear Also last year, the man who owns the house on the point with the large 3 boat boat house had several rods stolen. As you travel into Long Branch the houses on the south side and the houses on the north are not in the same addition so they may not know what has transpired in each others area. They may want to get together to compare notes. Could be the thieft/thiefts live in the same area. Just a thought.
If you're not part of the solution, then don't be part of the problem! A man has got to know his limitations.

I am going to go over to the North side of Long Branch this weekend to speak with some of the other home owners. The guy on the point did have several rods taken last year....I think they were recovered....from what I remember they were found near or under a trailer in the Coon area.link below http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3911628/2

To answer the questions of "what if he is 14" I do not really care the age. Shoot them dead. He is just starting and will learn even earlier that there really isn't punishment. Let's face it, there is not going to be a prolonged investigation, cops know that is as low as you can go on the priority list. Once a 14 year old figures this out, he is going to keep on stealing. So I say shoot them dead, stop the cycyle early.
Thieves have no place left on this earth but to be buried in the ground, plain and simple.

you need to bring rods, baits, graphs, etc... into cabins at night. heard it so many times. true, but, also heard of props, wheel hubs, trolling motors, butt seats, engine cowls... stolen as well.
a sting is the thing.... what you do before you call the cops is up to you.

I left all my stuff in my boat in my front driveway for 10 years in the "Hood Area" of Irving. I kept a cover on it.
I never had a car messed with either, But if you placed anything parked in the road then it became fair game for the theives in the area.

The worse part about hearing stuff like this is knowing that the people that do this know what to steal so that means they are fisherman. Just can't believe a fisherman would do something like this.
Karma has a funny way of catching up to them. Just because people fish by no means makes them upstanding citizens. They come from everywhere!!

Just because people fish by no means makes them upstanding citizens. No Doubt, I have seen some shady characters with a fishing pole in their hand...........

Thieves have no place left on this earth but to be buried in the ground, plain and simple. I ain't shootin' nobody over property, and, certainly, not a kid. Besides, sometimes, they beat you to the draw. Best to call 911. They ever catch those 2 guys that got videoed at Fork?

Rodney, I'm the guy who you talked to on the north side of Long Brnach. I passed the info to my neighbors and only one had stuff stolen, two lowrance depth finders. i did not have anything stolen.
When is the best guess on date and time the stuff was stolen. my neighbor would like this info to updATE THE POLICE REPORT.

That's BS about "you should be taking your stuff into the motel" You should be able to leave you stuff in your boat, even unlocked, and no one take it. It's that liberal kind of attitude that is taking over this country. They should nail these theive to the floor of a burning building then if they are able to cut themshelve free, shoot them when they come out. That kind of justice would stop [censored] like this!
