Yea, I never have any problems with being stolen from, I have a Ranger that stays tied up a cove down from the Minnow Bucket and I leave my calcuttas and g-loomis rods on the deck all night and my two 1197's have never been touched. It will be there tommorow night. I don't even have to watch them either and no camera's. I think they are scared to touch my stuff! Except for my golf cart trailer that somehow walked off one night.

Its time to set up a sting.

Bass boat alarm with no lights or siren. Just the 2 way pager and guys coming from all directions when it goes off. The thugs would have no idea we are coming until it was too late.

You get so sick and tired of this.

Who is to say if they brought everything up to the house that these thieves would not do some damage to the boat as payback for someone not leaving the stuff in the boat to steal. Anyone who steals is a dirtbag that doesn't belong in this world anymore.

The thing that irks me, is the victim is always to blame. I posted recently my wife had her Escalade stolen from our driveway overnight, and the response was, you should have it in the garage. BS, there is not one person who deserves to have something stolen from them, especially when things are locked up in your home, garage, boat house, vehicle, boat...etc. Kill everyone who steals, that is my new motto.

What if it's a 14 year old kid?

At night time you can't tell someones age. Hope I am a bad shot or he can duck real fast because it's all over but the crying. Besides, he was a good kid you know. That's what the parents will say....

If you leave your boat in the water or at a motel loaded with all your stuff in it, sooner or later you'll get hit.
I spent $700 for 4 color cameras at my place...
There is no way we could ever be hit with our security.

Never say never man. Cameras only record activity and arent necessarily gonna prevent it. Hopefully your recording device is not in the same location as the cameras because they can steal that too. Only way to prevent a theft is to not leave your stuff accesible.

Sounds like you just issued a challenge. IF the thieves are smart enough to come in by boat and hit 4 houses and never get caught; chances are they are monitoring this forum. I mean all we do is talk about what is hot on the market, and most of it isn't cheap. What a better shopping aid to a thief.

Once they get that desperate, wouldnt boats, motors, props be next? They have to have an outlet where they are selling the stuff, It cant just be a greedy fisherman, it has to be thugs looking for drug money.

I would bet the person behind the majority of these Fork thefts is a local Fork fisherman and well known. Probably not a meth head but uses a meth head to assist in the thefts and probably has a resource for turning over this gear to willing buyers. I will go out on a limb and say when this person is caught many of us on the forum will recognize them. Im not saying this person is behind all the thefts (not the opportunistic ones on a whim) but the organized thefts of the better high end gear. Cant wait until they are caught.

Leave your stuff out anywhere and you are asking for trouble...period.

I have a place at Fork and put my boat in a safe place every night...it doesnt sit outside and if it is its unloaded.

This is not a Fork thing, its a "sorry people" thing. It is what it is... and in my opinion its surprising to me that people are surprised by the fact this happens...it could happen in your driveway if you leave your stuff out.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

You would have to see the set-up..to know!

It can't happen. Way too many obstacles they would need to get by. If you knew, you would understand.

If these thieves are caught, send em to lake Tyler we'll help take care of them. Nothing I hate worse than a thief. If anyone that has lost fishing equipment needs help let me know, I have some useable rods and tackle.
