Well I'm taking a trip to the state park on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of December. I'm going to be fishing the surf by the park Friday night, the rest of the time will be spent at bob hall pier. I was wondering what I might expect for the fishing, seeing as though there will be a cold front coming through, water temps look like they'll be around 60F not sure though. I mainly want to hook into the biggest fish I can. No kayak this time but I will have my 13 ft poles so ill be lobbing my bait pretty much as far as I can off the pier/surf. any advice will be appreciated. Oh yeah my question is what to expect as far as fish activity and if there will be a chance of getting into smaller sharks.

Never fished it myself, but lots of folks use the Horace Caldwell pier in PortA. Packery Channel is very popular too, especialy for sheepshead. Got lucky last week at the bridge where the 317 crosses. Those things sure are tough on a fillet knife.
