I've always changed the hooks on most of my cranks as they come out of the package. The hooks on the Lucky Crafts & Normans seem to be okay. Some of the SK are alright, but some are awful.

What are your thoughts? Do you change the hooks out of the package?

I buy Triple grips for a lot of my baits, but I'm excited to try the KVD Mustad Elites they are short shank so you can put bigger hooks on your baits and they won't get hung up on each other.

the triple grips or kvd hooks mainly. I have had good luck with the VMC's too though, but mainly for fish a little bigger than a bass.
I like the VMC suresets, but haven't really used them on cranks yet, just tops.

this is spot on. These hooks are the only ones I use now for the same reasons. They are very strong and sharp

Triple Grips are great. Fish don't escape and they will get you too if your not careful.

I now use the mustad triple grips...

But for arguments sake i used to use owner treble hooks #4 and #5 on my traps and never had a problem

Best treble hook on the market and yes, you can go one size larger with no effect on action and much higher hook/land ratio. I'll be changing out all my trebles with KVD's when I can find them.

I personally hate the triple grips. I like to change out the back hook on my DD22s with a Gama EWG. Havent tried the KVD hooks.

Triple Grips on topwaters, lipless , jerksbaits and crankbaits, on tournament day if im not fishing a tourny usually just factory hooks unless I'm at a lake that is known for big fish

On my Lucky Craft Lures I leave the original hooks. On my Rapalas I leave the original hooks. On all of my other crankbaits I use the KVD Triple Grips w/Short Shank with great success.

What size are y'all using?

For me, I just replace with the same size that I take off.

Anyone carry these kvd elites?

I am old school, I still put a red treble hook on all my cranks.

I use Daicchi Hooks.
