It'll work with any HDS. I recomend that you get an 8 or 10 if you can afford it.

Some guys have said that it was a little to small for their eyes and bought bigger screens. I like looking at my 8 rather than the 7 but that's me.

I saw one on the lake this last week. It was mounted on an extension which put it at almost shoulder hieght when the guy was sitting in his front seat. That would greatly improve your vision on that size screen.

I couldn't afford the HDS-5, Santa Clause brought it to me last year for Christmas, but I have been told it was really too small to get what I want out of it with the LSS, I guess I will have to save some more money, or wait till next year when they come out with something new, and hopefully cheaper!!!

Thanks

Larry, look around for just a monitor. That way you will not have to buy all the cords, transducer and such. Monitors are usually several hundred cheaper. Then you could also network the 2 together with just a simple cord.

I say get as large of a screen as you can afford.

That's what Mad Mac told me, he said they are only for maping but you could hook them together and it would show sonar too!!!

The HDS 5 will work fine with the LSS. You can zoom in as well. I use that unit on the bow. As long as you don't see someone else's on a HDS 8 or 10 then you won't know what you are missing.

I have a 5 up front and 7 in the back. I wish I would have bought an 8 for the back. The larger the better, I havent connected my LSS to my 5 yet, but I will. I want to use the down scan while fishing deep T Rigs.

Thanks, Billy
