Wow, was the wind tough today. ATM told me it was going to be rough, but I disregarded it. We fished the north end for a while, even saw a ton of gulls. Chased them for a while, but that did not produce any fish. Finally move south before sunset, and marked some decent fish. Put down some jigs and flukes, and started deadsticking. Picked up one right off the bat. Missed a couple, and it was over. Put me down for my first fish of the contest the fall.

The deadstick bite was very light yesterday. Just had three bites all day, they well all just very light taps. Had to be quick on the trigger. I was one for three. Whats really cool is that such a lite tap can produce such a good fight.

Caught one today that was 23" while I was Crappie fishing. Birds started going crazy around me. Thats my biggest Hybrid ever. What does a 23" Hybrid normally weigh? My scale said 5 Lbs, but I don't know how accurate it is.

I normally don't weigh my fish but today I caught one that just felt like a chunk for his size, so I weighed him. He was 21.5" and weighed 5lbs even. So Bluetick yours might have went a little more than that since he was longer than mine. I caught a 23.5 incher today also but did not weigh him. BTW, good job on the hybrid, bet that was a surprise hanging into him while crappie fishing.

Nice CD. Palestine usually is about a month behind Tawok. A month ago birds were on bait without gamefish under them then a week later birds were on schools of striper/hybs. So don't give up on birds. Schools of hybs hopefully will show up soon. Now is when Palestine sometimes becomes great.

Well bring it on. I am ready for Palestine to produce like Tawakoni. Tired of the fish here fish there days. I'm ready for one of those 28" fish like Ledbetter Legend catches.
