Fished with my dad from 7:30-9ish and had a few good bites. Caught one on my first cast then a few bites here and there. Caught a baby one on the rod the was soaking powerbait. wouldve let it go but it swallowed the hook. last one i caught was probably the best one ive ever caught out of bethany ever since i can remember. been fishing every year there for the past 6-7 years. It was about 16 or so inches and i would say a little over a pound.

Should be back out there in the morning, or ill be out crappie fishing. havnt decided yet.

Nice job ultralite09. What were you catching them on? Were you in a camo jacket?

Caught two 12" or so trout at South Lakes Park in Denton this morning. Bait on the bottom. Couple other guys out there only catching channel cats (including my buddy who was using same bait as me). Other guys said two guys had been there earlier and limited.

Left my camera in my buddy's car but I'll post a pic later.

caught five but took five hours. About 10:30 a school must have come thorough one end of pond. A couple of us starting cathching them on spinners/spoons. The fish seem to be doing very little on bait.

My stepson Brian and I caught a limit in about an hour right before sundown. Then we had to fish out my folding chair that the wind blew in the lake.

Ran over to Bethany Lakes in Allen around noon today.

Walked around a while fan casting and ended up in the big part of the pond(in front of the little dock) and found them.
Very windy.... hard to see them moving with all of the ripples. So you just have to try places. several others were catching fish here on lures and bait but i didnt really pay attention to what they were using.

I usually just hang out until i see them moving around sipping at the top of the water. but couldnt see them today.

Got some light bumps on a little (1/8th oz i think) kastmaster in gold. I like it better than super duper when windy.
I forgot to sharpen the hooks so I didn't get anything on that.
changed to a white panther martin in about a 1/6th oz(ish) and caught 5 in 10 casts.
most were tiny. one was 11+ inches but skinny.

bite was VERY nibbly..... they really didnt jump on the baits.
have to reel a little faster to keep a tight line when they are like this.... especially in the wind.

i bet i could have stood there and caught 30..... but it was cold so i left them biting.

kept nothing.... got a freezer full from a trip to broken bow.

if you see me out there, you can always have my fish.

did hear from a guy there that thy lost a 12+ inch fish that was fat. so maybe there are a few quality fish this year. from my catch, i was disappointed in the size. why bother with a damn 8 inch fish. they should stock less numbers and target the 12 inch plush range fish.
just seems stupid to stock 7 and 8 inch fish.
