Cool one other thing like the Hefeweizen ive poured the beer in a glass then roll or kinda swish the bottom of the bottle around to pour the last of the beer. what is the best way to do that?
what kind of glass or migs do you reccomend?
do you chill the glasses?
how cold should i have the beer?

Right. That's what you want to do with Hefeweizens and other Wheat Beers. Pour most of it, swirl the sediment, and pour the rest.

But with other beers, such as IPAs, or Belgian Tripels, or any other style with sediment, you want to avoid pouring that, and avoid mixing it into the beer as much as possible.

It's essentially just leftover yeast, often from breweries that like to continue fermentation in the bottle, or from certain styles. And if it gets mixed into the beer it "muddies" the flavor. So pour slowly and evenly and try and avoid that part if it's not a wheat beer.

As for glasses, any kind will work, though some beers taste/smell better in certain glasses. Belgian-style ales for example are often best served in a Chalice or Tulip style glass. Whereas stouts and IPAs work well in Tulip glasses too, but also work just fine in a mug, or pint glass.

Lagers and Pilsners work fine in any glass.

I wouldn't chill the glasses myself for a tasting, and I would serve the beers closer to 50-55 degrees rather then ice cold.

When beer is super-chilled it loses a lot of flavor, and you'll find that as you let it warm a little, and drink it slowly, the flavors open up and grow more complex.

Not that you need to let it warm to room temperature or anything, just a bit above say, the refrigerator temperature, especially for Belgian styles, Barleywines, and Imperial Stouts.

I'd say pour it at Fridge Temp, and then taste it, then let it warm a little and taste it again.

Some beers ( like belgian ales ) will often list the best serving temp right on the bottle.

I've been a member on Beer Advocate for a while now. It's a great site. Their beer reviews are a great source of information to find out whether you think you'd like a particular beer or not.

I really enjoyed the last few samples we ended with Shiner and Noche Buena. The Noche Buena was really tasty and very flavorful but almost too much. Like when a guy in a car club adds to many gadgets and toys the shiner was just plain good all around becuase botha are bocks yknow but like mom always said K.I.S.S!

The Pacifico was a good beer too. really tasty and was just smooth and had the Mexican beer flavor we qall know and love (must be the water I tell my Compadre)

and third Im gonna say believe it or not the bud light! just because it was so easy to drink. the flavor was good too it was overpowering or smelled like a bunch of flowers but another beer that was simple. we drank it and everyone was almost in shock yknow we all looked at teach other and said Hey this is allright....I feel we all thought the simpleness of it worked.

What do you think of the afore mentioned Cervezas? lemme know.

It's opening a can of worms to ask me what I think about most of those beers, lol. I hardly ever drink pilsners and lagers these days.

I've reached the point in my beer connoisseur life that there's no such thing as a beer that's too complex or too bold or too overpoweringly flavorful for me, lol. The bigger, the better as far as I'm concerned hehe.

Among the beers you listed, the only one I drink regularly is the Shiner Bock, and mostly because it's easy to find in any bar or restaurant. All of those lagers/pilsners are interchangable to me, they've a little corn flavor, a little malt flavor, and that's it.

I don't have a problem with drinking light beers if people are giving them to me, but I won't buy them myself. Once you get into IPAs, Barleywines, Imperial Stouts, etc, light beers just taste like water. Simple beers with very little flavor profile just don't do it for me, I tend to think light beers taste mostly like carbonated water. ( But that's just me. )

Last time I had a Bud Light, I thought it tasted like slightly off 7-up LOL.

I drink Shiner Bock often, but I wish they'd still make their Shiner 100. ( Their Shiner 100 Anniversary Double Bock. ) That was their best beer, I think.

When it comes to beers brewed in Texas, though, I prefer stuff from Real Ale, St Arnold, Independence, Live Oak, Southern Star, Rahr and Sons, 512, etc. ( All Texas breweries and all great. )

Last few nights it's been Imperial Stouts for me.

Left Hand Imperial Stout ( 10.4% ) and Avery Mephistopheles Stout ( 16%).

Great stuff.
