OP DerlC Angler D Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 274 Canton, TX	I'm putting together a Rod & Reel combo for my son for a Christmas present and I'd like some opinions from you. I have bought a Berkley Cherrywood Graphite 7 ft rod, now what would be a good reel to go with that rod. I know most of you would want a baitcast or spincast for yourself but my son doesn't get to fish but about 4 times a year and he likes a spincast. willcam97 Angler W Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 303 Dallas & Palestine	A good reel for the price is a Quantum Optix. I have a few of them, including one on a 7' cherrywood as well. Only $18 at Academy. But if you are willing to spend the extra money, then you can't go wrong with the Shimanos.
