To access private farm pond or lake near the seagoville area. I'm in search for crappie and would like to fish it occasionally. I'm a manager that put in a lot of hours and not a lot of time to find them before dark falls. If you have info please pm.

It would have to be a large impoundment. Crappie overspawn in anything less than 25+ acres and stunt. Not a lot of people want to stock them in the typical farm or ranch ponds.

Don't know how its working out....but my friend that owns The Lakes of Danbury has one of his lakes in a crappie fishing project.
Of course Danbury is a long ways from Seagoville....
I've a few members that catch a huge crappie now and again at my fishing club (also near Danbury), but such catches are incidental.
As mentioned, these lakes are fairly large, ranging in size from around 20 to 150 acres.
Crappie tend to overpopulate, outstrip their food supply and stunt at a dimunitive but sexually mature four to six inches in smaller (and many times even large) impoundments.
They are also very inefficient converters of live food (mostly small fish)to fish flesh making them difficult to grow and manage as a "catch and keep" type fishery.
Alternatively, another club I manage nearby has a wonderful and harvestable crappie population, but that lake is about 500 acres.

We lease several lakes with large crappie. Probably the closest to Seogoville is a 37 acre lake in Flowermound. Like the people posting before me, Crappie and Private Lakes are not always compatible for the reasons mentioned. So, most of our lakes do not have Crappie as they often are detrimental to the bass population. If you want to strictly catch crappie, hiring a guide a few times a year at Cedar Creek lake maybe your best option for Crappie. Otherwise we have a few lakes were big slab crappie are caught, most are a couple of hours from Seagoville. We do have a property in Seagoville with 50 acres of water loaded with bass, but no crappie.
