I'm sure this subject has been on this board a few times(probably posted on it myself), but I did a search and haven't seen anything in the past 3 months. I myself carry a Gerber Re-Coil (spring-loaded pliers shoot out of the handles) for everyday use. I carry the Gerb fisherman 400 for my bream fishing and other small fish. And, I carry a Gerb fisherman 600 for bass and other larger fish. Will be interested in everyone else's opinions.

which one do you carry?
single choice

Ive owned a leatherman for quite a few years now and it is a good multi purpose tool. Good for yankin out treble hooks, adjusting your carb or pickin out a birdnest.

Their 25 year guaranty is the real deal too. I have a pair that I'd had for around 15 years that locked up on me. I sent them in and a few weeks later they sent them back working as good as new.

They are more money but an SOG blows the others out of the water. I have the powerlock and it is a good tool.

Best part of them! Hold a bass with one hand and open them with the other.

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

I carry the Gerber Multi-plier in its sheath strapped upside down on the left side of my fishing vest... old Army habit... rip open the Velcro, it drops right into my palm, flick it down to release the pliers, and get to business. The Gerber is just as essential of a part of my fishing gear as anything else. I think I've had the pair I've got now for at least 5 years, and they haven't given even a hint of giving out.

Gerber 600 is like my right hand. Got one over 10 years ago, replaced it once as I had lost.

This is a bass fishing essential tool. I have tried others, but when holding a fish and needing pliers to remove the hook, I can reach down, unloop the velco, pul the tool out and a simple flick of the wrist I have a fully usuable compact tool

Shut up and fish!

Very True! You get what you pay for.

I own a Leatherman Wave I believe it is a lifetime warranty. The knives are extremely sharp. I use it on the lake frequently. I am very pleased with it.
