Do the catfish still bite the same as they do in the winter and sping? I usually use Lewis King Cheese bait on a cork and fish shallow. I was wondering if you think that pattern will still work even though it is a little cooler. Thanks for the information.

Yup, was down there last weekend and that should work. The are scattered so you might have to move around and work for them.

Any more advice for this time of year on Choke would be appreciated. Trying to nail down a good place to start for next week.

Uh ya, Mike, start by the dam in 80+ foot of water. And don't give up on that spot, they bite right about 1:45 every day so don't move around at all....

I'll give ten dollars out of my wallet to anyone that catches a blue bigger than 20lbs at the tourney! (that is the 10 I'm putting in the big fish pot!).

80 feet, by the dam, that is a good idea. You know they have catfish that eat people and are as big as a Volkswagen or is it they eat VW's and as big as a van by the dams around here. Well, we'll find out next Saturday when I reel one of those puppies in. Might have to bring an extra tow rope to keep it alive in the water although the three pound penalty shouldn't hurt with a 700 lb fish. Get yer wallet out John!!!

Fishin's been pretty good. I've been catching lots of nice (16 to 20") blues in deep water on the north shore. Been in 35 to 50 feet of water on Marv's and carp. I've also caught some in 6 to 10 feet up in the coves.
They're in there, but ya gotta look for them.
I've fished Choke for the last 25 years, and it's always the same.
