Finally a good circle hook for catfish is sizes big enough for monster lips with the quality of Mustad. The Mustad 39951BLN is as good a circle hook as money can buy for medium to giant size cats.I have begged for a big light gauge wide gap circle hook and now we finally have one.We used the 10/0 39951BLN today , we had two big bites and landed 2 big fish. I went fishing with captain steve in september for gator gar. In the river Oklahoma rules apply so you can use a striper carcas as bait. I am talking about BIG BAIT!!! Buy a strip and let him tie a big one on for ya!!! IT'S WORTH IT!!

Yes, I guessed that its was a hugh bait. Several years ago I read an article about a small cult of gar fishermen that fished the Trinity River for hugh gar using a half a chicken and a wire leader to a hook about as big as a hay hook also they used a big salt water rod and reels. They used a 22 long rifle bullet to calmn them down when they got them to the boat. I will bet that some where on the Sabine some that big could be found.
