I pour my own lead heads. Last night tried to make some more. Had a hard time trying to unpluging the spout. Tried to run a small nail and couldn't get it undone. Any advice.

try heating the spout with a torch gently an using a tip cleaner that is used for cleaning cutting torch tips wear a welding glove ..lead an skin dont mix ..paul

not sure what type pot you have, but with mine-1st I take a ladle and scoop out any impurities from the melted lead in the pot (the thick stuff.) Next I poke a large paper clip up the spout and good to go. Good luck!
