Gonna give making some jig heads this winter a try and was wondering where to pick up some lead? How much is needed to make a 100 or 2 crappie jig heads?

Ebay, you won't need very much to make 100 jig heads. You can get ya 50 lbs and be set for a while. I think I have about 600 pounds in my garage right now lol.

Tire weights will work, the only problem I have with it is it's a harder lead and not as clean looking. You should be fine with it.

If you know any of the AT&T construction guys there in Weatherford, you might be able to get them to save some for you. I was a splicer for a few years and worked with some of the techs in weatherford. I'll bet they can help you out.

I bought a bag of number 8 shot I beleive it was from the gun range and it has been working great for years, still havent used it all.

If you want to be a little safer, buy a 1# roll of lead free solder. Works pretty good for me.
