Anyone have a good link to a video showing the basics of pitching and flipping? Richie White has shown me how to pitch and been practicing a bit and getting better. No idea what flipping is unless it's a synonymous term for pitching.

try micro guides on your rod. You would be surprised what they can do for your accuracy and control. I use the Kistler rods with micro guides and I was able to turn the brakes completely off becuase it reduced line slap on the guides that much.

They've become synonymous. What most people (including myself) call "flipping" is actually pitching. Flipping is where you pull a few feet of line off with your non-casting hand and control the lure with the line in your hand. Pitching is doing all the work with your casting hand, only using your non-casting hand as something to hold the lure up before you fling it out there.
