I'm thinking about starting on 2946 and possibly fishing at 515 west...hopeful the front will hold off until we've caught a few.

Anybody else going? Have they moved out deep by the dam yet?

I am not going tommorow, but am planning on going at the end of the month.
Where is a secure place to launch?
Also, I have never been on the lake, what is the current map I need to avoid the stumps?

Not trying to tell you where to go but if they aint biting at fork ,ease over to lake Quitman and drift with some minnows in the skiing area! if there is some wind you should'nt be dissapointed!!

At fork they are on the bridges and on the main lake. Fork has so many crappie its silly. And now the limit is first 25 you catch you keep.

Gray_Ghost,
Check out the Sabine River Authority website and they'll send you a free one. Email them your address and they'll send it in 2 days. Got mine today. If you want a really good map of Lake Fork I recommend the Fishing Hot Spots maps. BPS has them for 11 or 12 bucks.

I'd suggest looking into this if you have GPS: http://www.boatlanes.com/boatlanes_product_catalog.html thumb

I've personally never had any problems at any of the ramps - just use common sense and you should be fine
