Keith Alan.....To now the biggest jokester in the sport...I for one, just don't understand the angle BASS is trying to take on this one. Some guys will like him, but I am willing to guess, guys like Rick Clunn will shake their head as they walk off stage.

Say what you want but i think Mercer will do a good job. He will probably take it more serious then his facts of fishing. He comes into it with a knowledge of fishing unlike the last guy. Congrats Dave

Mercer will do fine, most of the guys already know he's a nut laughing or not .. LOL Gezzzzz.
I hope he takes this seriously and conducts his self with some dignity around so many professionals.
But hey, everyone likes to have a little fun every now and then, prolly why they got him over Zona[my first choice].

Everyone has the freedom to voice their opinion, however until you walk the walk, and talk the talk - Things are better left to be judged over time.
I've seen first hand, top rated emcee's that folks on this forum praise, turn down an autograph to a kid that looked no older than ten years old.
I've seen it, because I've been in the weigh in line.
Over the last couple of years, Dave was key in the TTBC held on Lake Conroe, so if you didn't get a chance to see Dave Live, then I wouldn't be so quick to criticize.
Dave's approach to duties as an emcee are quite different than his shows, if that's what you have problem with - then send him some pic's and a story of your big fish for content on his show
If Dave wasn't successful as an angler as well as a promoter then he wouldn't have the sponsors he does; Toyota, Yamaha, Bass Pro Shops, and Subway
