Though I have thoroughly enjoyed my time fishing for carp I must have a reprieve from from it. While engaging in the sport most recently, events unfolded in escalating fashion to most completely and unequivocally frustrate me to no end. while enjoying a blank session my method lost its binding attribute and after three exploded method balls I "tossed" my most expensive and precious of gear breaking the tip off my rod. my escalating frustration (which I must take steps to prevent in the future) has left a sour taste in my mouth. Though mostly a bad night it gave me great insight into who I am as a person. Carping has dominated my life now since June, and I have realized that because of that I have neglected other facets of my angling life. I will be taking a long break from carp to pursue other fish species especially catfish and saltwater fish. I will also be using my kayak much more and fly fishing. I appreciate all the help and wisdom shared on this forum and hope to one day be proficient enough to repay that favor. Though I shall return I bid farewell for now.

Good luck!
I never focus exclusively on carp, myself. I'm a multi-species angler first and foremost, I enjoy catching every fish in Texas waters! I just happen to enjoy carp fishing a little more often then some other species.
Heck the last few months I've done a lot more fishing for whites and hybrids, as well as walking the banks of a river with lures, then I have for carp.
