I've never owned any rod I couldn't pick up at my local wal mart gna start tourney fishing and wanna upgrade my rods. So I'm wanting peoples ideas as to the best rods you can get in the 150 to 230 range. Sensitive and as light as I can get.

I would try a Shimano Cumara. Lifetime warranty, light, sensitive, and widely available. Daiwa Zillions are nice too.

Your gonna get lots of different suggestions, from lots of folks both prostaffers and non-staffers.

There are lots of good rods out there and it is hard to say which one or which brand will be best suited for you. Most of the staffers as myself will suggest the brand they are associated with, and many people view this as because we have to. But most of us have used lots of different rods and brands thru out our fishing carreer and when/if we were given the opportunity we became associated with the rod company we liked best.

Since 1990 I have fished w/CastAway's I feel they represent the best you can ask for in quality of product. The company and people that work there are fantastic, and plus they are still one of the few that are American made, on the banks of lake Conroe, Montgomery, Texas.

The Castaway Skeleton Alconite series ...CastAway Alconite... is top notch, super light and highly sensitive. If you are close to Grapeland Texas you are welcome to borrow mine and try them for a day or two to help aide in your decision. If i can be of any help let me know

I'd buy 2 Falcon Lowriders before spending $200 on just one.

A Falcon Cara is about as good as it gets. I fish over 250 days a year and put these rods through hundreds of different peoples hands and they hold up GREAT!

On the other hand, I have fished with every rod on the market and the Cara is as good, or better than any i've ever used!

Dobyns Savvy Series is very durable, lightweight, and super sensitive. I used this series to catch my over in the lake fork TFF tourney this year, and also used this series to win the RHBC CHampionship this year. If these rods weren't as sensitive as they are, i dont think I would have felt HALF the jig bites as I did. out of the 11 fish listed above, 9 of those were jig fish that hit the jig and just popped slack in the line then sat there. I felt the tick on the rod and saw the slack in my line and just set the hook.... the credit goes to the rod i use!! Dobyns Savvy 734 and Dobyns Savvy 735 are the main two.

I love my BPS rods. The carbonlite series is AWESOME!!! You put a carbone lite reel on there and it is SWEET, light, and affordable setup..

All of my rods now are BPS rods and reels.. Full support of BPS to go along with it...
Hard to beat it.. for the price..

Rip some Lips ya'll.
