I was fishing on the south east corner of the pond, close to the back parking lot. Never had a bite at all... I'm gonna try in a couple of days and maybe tomorrow afternoon if I can. I only saw 3 caught the whole time I was there.

Last year me and my dad had an easy limit on super dupers before the dough bait/corn/cheese guys had one. I even had a grown teenager next to me throw a fit because he'd "been there all morning and hadn't caught a thing." And we got 10 on super dupers within an hour. Pretty sad. He was probably about 16.

I was in a maroon sweat shirt in the middle on the South end and then moved over to the second bench from the south end on the west side.Gonna try again in a couple of days after I get some more spinners.

Anybody go to Rose Park in Mansfield? They were biting great on super dupers and panther martins. Little bitty suckers tho. Biggest I saw was maybe 10 inches. Most under six.

I was at Chisholm park when they stocked it this morning. I've tried Berkely trout bait, corn and worms with no results. Decided to throw a super duper and a panther martin for a while, nothing. So I'm back to power bait and corn on the bottom. I've only seen two caught so far. The two cormorants out here are even having a hard time catching them. I've only seen them catch 3 so far. One of the big reasons you had no luck is they only put 125 trout in Chisholm where in years past they put hundreds. The practice of stocking only 125 trout every two weeks instead of dumping all 1896 in at one time really stinks. With 125 trout stocked and 250 fishermen it is not hard to do the math. Prior to 3 years ago TPWL stocked several hundred at a time. Now since Hurst has to pay for the trout they stock only a few.

They actually stocked way more than intended on accident. They forgot to put the plunger in between two tanks. So when they opened the plunger to dump the trout. Half the trout that were suppose to go to Green Briar ended up in Chisholm. I was standing right next to the truck when they dumped them.
The one guy estimated they just dumped about 200lbs of trout into the pond. So I know there are plenty in there.

my experience has been that they don't bite dough or corn real good for about a week. Then that is near all they will bite on. The key w/ inlines and super dupers is presentation. Toss it out, let it sink a second, then real it in real slow, just fast enough to keep it right off the bottom.

Are they going to start skimping on the catfish too or is that paid for by the state ?

The one guy estimated they just dumped about 200lbs of trout into the pond. So I know there are plenty in there. Greenbriar was scheduled for 125 trout, so half would be 67 trout. 200 lbs would be 400-600 fish - still nothing compared to past years. That sounds like something the TP&WL personnel would do, though. How was it you spell dumb?

My son and I hit up Mesquite City Lake again today after work. Fished almost 2 hours and worked our way slowly around the banks of the whole lake and caught NOTHING. With 460 stocked fish I would have thought I would have at least foul hooked one on such a small pond but nothing!

I always put some trout dough on the bottom and then suspend some under a bobber a couple of feet down and leave them in rod holders while I toss a small spoon or inline spinner around. I just went to academy last night and stocked up on panther martins and slip bobbers. Taking the kids crappie fishing in the creeks is hell on my slip bobber stock... Don't forget the 2 rod limit in community ponds though if the game warden visits. and even when he doesnt visit

I was a City Park Mesquite yesterday I was there before they stocked it. I fished on bottom I thought I might get a catfish while waiting for the trout. I only had one bite I am thinking it was the turtle that poped his head up after the fact.I had to leave to go to work about 11:30. I think I saw you and your son when I was leaving.Today I was out there I walked around the whole pond casting out powerbait.Out of about 8 people I saw 1 fish caught by a comorat. Before I made it all the way around the pond a guy showed up throwing a cast net.On about his second throw he caught a nice size trout. He went and got a bucket of water;and put the trout in it. After that he proceded to throw the cast net all the way down the bank with the pool behind it.I was on the other side by the Church when I lost my hook .It was time for me to go to work anyway. So I started walking back to my truck I was talking to all the other fisherman on the way out.Only one catfish caught out of about 5 other guys that were still out there. When around The corner comes the guy with the cast net throwing right next to everyone fishing. He went out on to the small peir close to the water fountain and pretty much threw right on top of two guys next to him.So I had to open my big mouth I was fairly ticked at this point. So I asked him how would you like it if I was trowing my net over you line?He had a awsome comeback last I checked this is city park and it is owned by tax payers. At that time the guy next to him sayed something to him.So he was threatening to take all of us on at that point. So I let him know I am sure the game warden would-be intrested in the trout you caught in the net over in you bucket. He took off .I am sure to release his illegal catch.I had to go so I called the police to see if they would call the game warden out.Out of all the casting that jerk did he only had one shad to show for it.So the trout have to be in the middle of the pond not eating yet.Are you going tommrow?Hopefully the guy with The castnet will stay at home.I am going to try to bring my two boys after school tommrow hopefully the trout will bite.

Wow what an [censored]! Funny that you mention the cast net because I lost a blue fox on a cast net that someone lost in the far south east corner of the lake so be careful if your are fishing there. For future referance here is the name and number to a game warden that I met out At White Rock Lake. I am sure that he would love to have a talk with your new cast netting friend as he was very thorough in inspecting my boat and paperwork the day I met him. My boy and I should be out again tomorrow afternoon maybe we'll see you and yours there.
Here is the info: Game Warden Martin Oviedo Office Number 972.226.9966 Cell Number 214.886.4074
