Hey guys, I fish quite a bit by myself and was just curious how user friendly are the boat ramps if a guy is by himself and not trying to unload too early during the busier time? Appreciate any advice. Thanks

it wouldnt be too bad as long as you dont launch as soon as they open the gates..

ramps are good ...youll have no problems launching solo... they are pretty steep so dont fully unhook till in the water

They have quite a few areas close to the ramp to tie the boat up. Only problem is that parking is a pretty good distance off so it does take a while and I do recommend coming a little later when fishing by yourself. That's what I generally do so I am not slowing up the early rush.

When I have fished by myself. I normally go ahead and pull around the general parking and park up the hill close to the walk way that comes right back down to the ramp. Its closer than having to walk from the far end parking.

Plenty of area to tie up next to the ramp, so the truck doesn't hold anyone up at all really.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like it will not be too difficult.

Id show up just as normal. Its not like you
Gotta drive your boat 5 miles then move your truck.
There's a place to park your boat yards away and
4 ramps.

Omg don't make anyone 3 minutes late to their spot!!!!

I agree with Chasin Hogs. Guys launching solo have just as much right to do so as anyone else. There is no reason for you to try to get there late on their behalf. Maybe they need a little more patience. You can launch pretty fast out there even if you are solo. If they are in that big of a hurry they should offer to back you in.

this is the ramp at one of my favorite CA reservoirs [img:center][/img] The water was at that level 6 months ago or so. Since then it's up just above the dirt (where the orange cones go across the wide part of the ramp). It's still a fricken treck! Takes over 10 minutes to park the truck and hike back to the boat if you're in good shape!

Geez guess everything isn't bigger in texas.

Y'all use old aircraft carriers for boat ramps?

I forgot to mention the worst part...The hike up the darn thing at the end of a 13 hr. day of fishin' in the 105 dg. summer heat. I wish it was made from a carrier, there might be an elevator then!

I fish alone a lot out there and i show up early with all the other guys, If the first lane closest to the covered slips is open i use that one so i can be out of the way and and just tie my boat off to the corner and move my truck, I have launched my boat faster by myself then two guys in one boat, just be curtious and turn you headlights off when backing down.

I've walked up this one also and you have a to take a water break on the way up, but Lake Alan Henry has a pretty good hike as well.
