Jim Hood, i do not know what he is talking about we use #6 or #8 hooks without any type of spring and we also do not keep it cool the hotter and juicier the bait is the better it is to use. We also do not pile the bait on the hook Big Marv and I say the smaller the bait the better the fish will take it. We have personal friends that use our bait that are now beginning to see what we mean.

Right on,if you use bait that has beef tallow in it, you can dip your hook when it is hot and bait is juicy, dip the bait in the water and the tallow will harden slightly and you can cast without throwing any bait off. Also, just covering the hook tips on your treble hooks is just the right size bait like you said earlier. Most people try to pile too much bait on the treble hook.Where are you catching your fish these days?
