I met Jerry and his wife back in the 80's and even fished the honey hole tournaments several times. A couple of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. Jerry was as enthusiastic about sharing knowledge as he was about fishing. Brings back great memories. And another thing, they sure loved seeing kids taught the ways of our most excellent sport. Good job for the posting Mark.

It was before the internet. I remember the only information available was in the Thursday Dallas Morning News fishing report.
And I know who "Jeff" is.

Love me some pistol grips! Still use one for topwaters, almost get laughed out of the boat everytime I pull it out.

I also fished several of the Honey Hole Big Bass Tournaments on Fork, " back in the day ". Jerry and Debbie Dean were good people. I weighed my PB bass in one of those tournaments it was a 9 lb. 4 oz. bass and if I remember correctly....I think I took 8th place in the tournament.

Man what memories. I must have done at least 4 shows with Jerry Dean in the 80's & 90's. The lake was totally different then. I also got to win the first big bass tournament Honey Hole had on Fork. It was 8 degrees that morning but it warmed up to about 19 by afternoon. There were 14 fish caught tat day and all of them died from frozen gills. My fish weighed 7.35 pounds if I remember correctly. There were over 400 entries but only about 200 showed up to fish. My boat would not start and someone else took me to weig my fish. Thought I was going to die running down the lake. Some great memories though. Thanks for doing these Mark. Great job

It was 8 degrees that morning but it warmed up to about 19 by afternoon. That's hard core. Most tournaments would have cancelled these days
