Hey there TFF. Today I'd just like to ask for some tips on fishing highland lakes, and clear water lakes in general. The lakes I can fish are all clear water and I havent been doing to hot lately.
Thanks, Kevin

I was slow to learn it, but flourocarbon line is part of the answer in clear water.
Start with 12 lb test and go down from there. Also important to retie often.

Light line, small lures. Keep a low profile when fishing from the bank, they can see you and will spook.

Put your rattling lures up in the clear water lakes. Silence your traps if you are fishing them and it will up your bite ratio. Use flourocarbon line, downsize the diameter and it will help you.
Good luck

also, don't walk parallel with the water. Approach the spot you are going to fish in a vertical pattern. They can hear your feet much more than your voice.
