i have one cylinder that has zero compression.
is there any way to get around replacing the entire powerhead? are there other options or is it an all or nothing deal? i'm having a real hard time locating a powerhead for my 91 200 hp Evinrude (craigslist, here, ebay, etc). i live in San Antonio are there any boat dealers in town i could get parts from?

are there any tricks to get it to run with just the other 5 cylinders so i dont have to replace everything? (the other 5 are in perfect working order)

any help is appreciated

Mike Halfman in San Marcos will give you an honest opinion.

I've never seen one cylinder bored and replaced with new piston last very long, it's a cheap fix, but far from permanent.

Check with Cary's Mobile Marine. I have bought used parts from him and have been very satisfied. He may be able to help you out. His cell number is 281-312-9856.

Good luck.

And...Whatever you do DO NOT run it with a dead piston. It will cause all manners of problems.
