Keep warranty in mind when looking at a custom rod vs a Loomis.

A loomis is a flat $100 fee for replacement. I haven't priced any actual "custom" rods, but the TFO rods have a $40 replacement, I am looking towards denali rods because they are made here localy.

Both, I build my rods from Loomis blanks, get the best of both worlds with the quality of Loomis without the cookie cutter feeling.

I thought loomis stopped selling their blanks?? There are still a ton of them floating around. Won't be a shortage for a while.

I love my GLX's and wouldn't trade them. On the other hand the other rods have really improved in their weight and sensitivity, and are a whole lot cheaper.

I just purchased several of the Denali rods and one for spinning from TFO, and they are great! I got them at a major discount, 20% off, and free shipping on all of them as well. I have some videos I did using them at my site. Here are the ones I got. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Denali_Ro...ml?from=detroph

They make the rods(denali) 30 miles from me. I am going to check around.
Loomis went up on their price to a flat $100 fee according to a dealer in Batesville, AR.

G Loomis has not changed their warranty, just the fee for the expeditor service. It's $100 for expeditor service instead of $50. Their warranty has not changed.
