Is anybody still fishing at Falcon Lake? I wonder what the security is like at this time.
Don't be afraid of the light it is just me looking for a place to fish.

I was down there about a month or so ago and I wouldn't worry about anything as long as you are on the US side. Supposedly the main lake is safe from across from Zapata to the dam. Don't fish after dark, stay away from way up river and do not carry on the lake if you go across the border.

Fished there last week and spent 50% of the time on the Mexico side as did many other boats.
They say just stay out of the Salado.

I was there in August and fished with Charlie Harleson for 2 days. We were in Mexico 95% of the time and never had any problems of felt threatened. I would not hesitate to go back down there and hope to get to go in February.

Fish are on Green shad spinnerbaits in the many senderos. The casting jig bite is on as well off the visible brush lines. Tip it with a biffle bug or rage craw in Green pumpkin. 8-12 foot, being on a point helps. Today the big fish bite was way off for us. My guys had 40 but only 8 over 4lb. Front, no wind, and bluebird i guess. We will give em a full day tomorrow and get even with em!

For a good laugh at the sensationalist hysteria law enforcement authorities are trying to whip up about cartel activities on this lake, tune in to the National Geographic channel at 5:00 pm this Wednesday.

The LEO's are not hysterical, its the media! They continously rehash old news and seek out and replay any interviews that support the media frenzy.

Yeah, they've been talking to the wrong people. Any guide could have told them that Los Decapitatores usually wait until dark to move into U.S. waters. Far as we know, anyway.

Spent last weekend there. Only saw one Border Patrol cruising each day. No Coast Guard or Game Warden at all. Saw lots more of each in August. Only three other boats at Oso Blanco all weekend. Pretty sad really. Just go fish it and stay on the US side....Falcon is a confidence builder for sure!

And just why would you want to stay on the US side? Because there are some very dangerous people on the Mexican side, right? And why are they there? For a refreshing plash in the water, perchance, or to do a little angling? No, they are there to transport narcotics across the lake, thus to evade land checkpoints. And you sleuths have persuaded yourselves that you can predict their movements with certainty. But oh, you say, you fish these waters freqently, and your head still rests upon your shoulders. That's about as meaningful as boasting that you frequently skip over to Nuevo Laredo for a nice plate of cabrito. Such does not demonstrate that the degree of risk is acceptable, in relation to what is gained.
NATGEO, at 5:00 pm today.

This is certainly an improvement on impudent and libellous accusations that Tiffany Hartley killed her husband.
