For you carpers over here, there's a pond at 410 and 90 called stablewood farms park that may interest you. While fishing there one day I spoke with a guy who stocked it for the SA P&R and he showed me a pic of a 30# koi that came from the pond. He said that there are at least 40 in the pond. I'm passing this along in good faith that you guys are catch and releasers like myself, I can't stand over-fishing.

Royce, I woul dbe willing to give thata try. I am free Wednesday morning-afternoon. I thought about going to Austin again, but for a large Koi I would go.

Def CPR for fish.

I may go recon this today to see what it looks like. I wonder if non residents can fish there?

OK, scouted out the pond at Stablewood Farms. The first thing I noticed was all the algea on the top of the water. The second thing I thoght was "man, this looks like bass heaven"

Then I saw all the sunfish...hundreds of them

I did not see any Koi or carp, but that certainly does not mean that they are not there. This would be one to float fish for sure. It seems pretty shallow

That guy I spoke with said that the pond has a channel that runs through the middle that is about 25' deep and most of the fish hang around the fountain.

And yes it is bass and sunfish heaven, that's what keeps me goin back there ;-)

Cool, that is good to know. I saw the fountain and it is castable. This is not a euro gear type of place, but a few bank sticks w ith alarms would be good.

The pond is completely full as well.

I'm new to the forum but not to fishing for carp. Rod/reel and Flyrod. I am interested in catching more and learning new places in San Antonio. Thanks for the tip at stablewood, I plan on trying it soon. Anyone else wanna make a trip of it?

Wow...this was my very first post on the forum. It's funny it popped up again.
Well it is trout season again so I will be goin to Brack park again. I will keep my eye open for carp again too and report my findings.
