I used to fish there when I was a kid with family and friends. We used to catch lots of catfish, bass, perch, and coy. Pretty decent fishing spot. The casting pond was also a pretty good spot. My father once caught a 3 lb. bass and I caught a 2 lb. bass at the ditch below the damn.

I have never fished it either. I have also not seen any reports about Woodlawn lake. I heard that the City has cleaned the lake and area up. I have also heard that there are some nice size carp in that lake as well as a good population of Channels. I guess the only way to find out is to head out there and see for your self. If you do give us a report. Good luck.

Hate to say it but... The lake is [censored]. (excuse the language) I do want to go back and try the docks for carp though, considering they are about the only fish that could handle water that polluted. A little exaggeration, but this not a good spot. go to millers park pond instead.

Try these two ponds. The first is on 151 between 410 and W. military. There is park with some soccer fields. Follow the path maybe .25miles and there is pond with some access. The water is clear and have a solid bass population caught all on 3" senko wacky. Also my favorite little pond is at 90/410 near the new best western. Take 410 south on the access road take the first left and go back north and there is a small park and pond. The pond is full of small bass most are 8-12" with a few over 1.5-2lbs. I used to live there and would throw topwater, tubes, craws, and small senkos.

In most cities, especially in Texas, the creeks and ponds are all connected to storm sewers so anything that is left on the street gets washed into the creeks. It is disgusting and stems mostly from people being lazy or just not knowing any better.
Can't do anything much about the lazy, but we can write letters to the editor in newspapers etc. and draw attention to the trash getting into the runoff.
I live in Houston and it's the same; all of the streets run off into the bayous which then run into Galveston Bay. The bayous get filled with plastic water bottles, foam drink containers, etc. from the thoughtless.
