I tied the albright last night and had the knot slip today. Not sure if it was a fluke or not, but it got me to wondering what everyone else's favorites are? I've always used the blood knot for tying two mono lines together, but don't know if that is a good one for braid to flouro. I've decided to switch all my bass rods to braid, but still want to use a flouro leader.

I always use what they call a surgeons knot. So far it has held every time with no problems. Be sure to wet it before you sench it down.

I just realized what I thought was a blood knot, is really a double uni knot, or uni to uni. I've been tying this knot for almost twenty years now and always called it a blood knot. Thanks Ranger, I just looked up the double surgeons knot. Looks easy enough. The knot looks a little more round though. Does this cause problems going through rod guides?

Kyle46N- I haven't had any problems of the knot going thru the guides. I use it for flipping and long casting. Just cut the tags ends as close as you can and you won't have any problems. I have used it on as heavy as 30lb test.

Double uni. I spool my reels with a bit of mono first, then tie a double uni knot to line up the rest of the reel with braid. Keeps the backlashes down to a minimum. A little trick my Sensei taught me. Here you go!

I use the double Uni too, usually when tying a braid shock leader on.

a lot of people like the blood knot, and it's good but I usually tie the double uni
