is the insight map worth the extra dollars? From what customers tell me... about 80% prefer the Navionics chips as it covers their lakes in better detail. The biggest advantage of the Insight mapping is you have maps no matter where in the country you travel. Although, I've had a few tell me that the Insight worked better on their home lake.

I have had both, I like the lake insight or lowrance maps for finding creek channels and road beds. The Insight and Lowrance maps do have them better than the Navionics chip,. the navionic chip is far betetr for contour lines for finding ledges etc in my opnion. I usually leave mine set to the Lowrance maps all the time until i really want detailed contour lines. As really as far as the insight, the topo versian map is sorta kewl and will show you where water is more than likely coming into the lake and the layout of the land pretty good which without it you have no idea. So its a toss up. If a couple hundred dont matter buy it and you will always have it. One more thing hat MAY make a diffrence someday
