Fished AM on Mon and again on Tues.....Several small blues bit, but only a few keepers from 14 to 16 in. were landed. Deep water 25 feet or so near dam was only area that produced.

Yes, its a flathead, the only one that I have ever caught. i think it was a smaller one, about 19 inches.

Havent been back lately, went night fishing a week and a half ago. Caught some dinks. I think it will pick up as the water cools some. What do you think?

Nice catch. I usually fish for crappie out there but the catfishing can be unreal. I saw two old guys come out of there last March with a huge stringer of cats up to 18 lbs that they got about 75 yards out from the hot water outlet. They used minnows to catch gasper goo(buffalo) and then cut the goo into really small pieces and used that for bait. I was impressed. They had about 100 lbs of fish for 4 hours of fishing. They acted like that was almost common for them. Be carefull on the flatheads. They have to be 18 inches. I like to cast net shad and float them under balloons around the dam area while I'm crappie fishing. I haven't got a big one yet but I saw some guys doing this about 4 years ago and they caught 4 from 12 to 34 lbs that day.
Good luck and keep posting reports from out there. Who knows, I might run into you out there. I have a camo express with a merc 25.

i think you're right. i haven't fished there since last spring. we drifted the dam and also tied up to the last tree on the other side of the island from the boat ramp and casted straight out into the big water. there is a creek that runs through there and we caught about a dozen in two or so hours between two and three pounds on shad we netted at the discharge. i'm still working on tommarow. i'll let you know how it comes out.

I'm going out there the morning of the 22nd. What kind of depth/structure should I target in the fall?

The only two places I would recommend are just outside the discharge and by the spillway/dam area. Both would be in about 20-30 ft.

Caught 12 keepers between 7 and 9 this morning. Nothing worth mentioning size wise.
