I'm not requesting people's specifc areas, but would certainly appreciate some general information about cat fishing on Lewisville. Is Lewisville considered a reasonably good cat fishing lake? Do people prefer the Lake Dallas side or the newer side? At this time of year, would you expect the fishing to be better on the main lake or the creeks? Thanks for any help. Mucho Gracias!

I think LL is one of the premier catfish lakes in Texas. Most publications tell you to fish the old Lake Dallas for catfish, but I have found them everywhere. I haven't been in about three weeks, but plan on drifting the humps this weekend with fresh shad.
Waiting on Bob Davis' next selfie

I just did the ACATS classic last weekend. We started out fishing the North West side, west bank, 3 - 4'. The bite we super slow. We left that area about 11:00am. When we got to the weigh in, the other 2 teams that were fishing next to us said soon after we left the bite was on. Their biggest was 13lbs. They came in 2nd & 3rd place. We did the same repeat performance Sunday, as did they too.
We picked up some decent ones drifting the west side of the old Lake Dallas dam, in 24 - 27'.
2 fish over 20lbs were weighed in that weekend too. They both were caught in coves in 10' of water off Danny King punch bait.
Hope that helps.

What ever happened to the old catfish guide on LL. He had all kinds of holes bated and you used to always see him in his big party boat. I think he used to charge like $50 a day. He used to pull in a lot of big cats just south west of the cut.

I didn't see any trees, they were all stumps. We saw a 1000 something commorants fly by on that nw side about 9 or 10, but the were sitting in the water, not trees.

To my knowledge I am the only one guiding catfish on Lewisville. www.txcatfishguide.com

The last I heard was that Randle Hall is in Port Mansfield. I think he may be guiding down there. He was a really fisherman who taught my friend Shannon and I lot about Lewisville, and about drifting. So much so, Shannon caught the lake record blue the day Randle guided us.

During the ACATS CLASSIC ,Danny king and I fished the little elm side .We was targeting 6-12 feet of water ,looking for active shad . I think this is the key . Find the bank that has gulls setting on the water floating . They are there for a reason . Try using some DANNY KING PUNCH BAIT (BLOOD). We won big fish one day and the ACATS CLASSIC over all with this bait. My Dad won big fish sunday with it also . I will be back to this lake ,it has some big blues ..,,GOOD LUCK www.catfishangler.com
