Fished Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to just after lunch with Woodrow (another greenhorn). 17 keeper blue cat; largest two were 15 lbs. and 8.5 as verified by trusty Walmart scale. Threw everything over 5 pounds back into the lake. Fished under the cormorant roosts in 2-4 feet of water with chicken gizzards. Lost just as many as we caught. When the sun comes up, try fishing the shade right next to the trunk of the big trees. They don't necessarily have to be bird roosts either. New trick for us!! Good fishing ya'll!

Can I catch some like that from the bank? I have a boat , but why bother with it if I dont have to.

Although the trees are in 2-4 feet of water, I had to boat a long way on Cedar Creek (3-4 miles) to get to it. I don't know of any public bank access. We can see the 175 bridges from where we fish, but it would be a very long wade trip through the water. If you had a canoe or kayak, it would be more feasible. I would just recommend getting in the boat if you are so equipped. Catch a bunch.
