What is the best anchor for a 20 foot ranger? I very seldomly anchor, but when I need to anchor for fishing out in the main lake my standard Wal-mart anchor will not hold.
Thanks,

This is what I use on my 20` boat, and it works fine.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

25 lb navy fluke style with enough rope to put out 3 or 4 times the depth you are trying to anchor in. The rope is the real trick. This set up holds my 520 ranger in any wind.
Retirement best job ever.

Put 3-4 ft of stainless chain on the front of it. The added weight will help the anchor dig in and hold better

And for all of that rope, what do you use? I use an extension cord wheel. Any other suggestions? I use a navy style anchor as well for my Z22. Seems to work fine. I do have two sets, placed 90 degrees to each other, or sometimes 180 degrees to each other if not too windy, for really locking down and staying off of the TM, but seldom use both.

Do you guys have issues with those diggers when pulling them back up ever? Seems like those things would be difficult at times

The digger anchor that GGRNR recommended takes care of that issue.
