Has anyone been lately? Are buzzards at Oak Thicket Park still a problem? How do I protect my truck from them?

I was there last Friday and the buzzards were not problem. The fishing was OK and I caught a couple on the edge of grasslines. I did try both the inlet and outlet of the plant with a crankbait, football jig and carolina rig and they didn't want any of it. Tried a couple places along the dam also with the same and didn't catch anything.

Tx rigged 8" LFT worms and weightless wacky worms near grass were the only thing that worked for me.

I was there last Monday, the buzzards were there and they got me. Truck was covered in poo and they pecked off the weather stripping on my back window and on top of doors on both sides. I may take a tarp next time I go and cover the truck with it. Fish were biting ok, caught most around the intake and outtake on the rocks with a jig and a few on flukes. Couldn't get bit up in the trees or weedlines. Caught quite a few dinks on points with C-rig and CB. Maybe 20-25 total for the day. Spent about 8 hours on the water.

Im sure you know the slot limit law at FPP, so not sure what you mean by a 23 pound STRINGER?? Trust me the diligent Game Wardens will show you. Would like to see some pics of these HEAVY stringers for this slot limit lake.

(I don't think he meant that he actually had 23 pounds on a stringer--probably that he caught that much during the day)

We fished Fayette over the weekend. Saw the buzzards around the lake but none at the Oak Thicket parking lot.

There were the little green bugs around but they weren't too bad.

Husband and I caught some two pound-ers, three pound-ers and maybe a four pound-er. They wanted green worms on Friday and Saturday. This morning they liked 10 inch Berkeley motor-oil/red power worms. The wind picked up around 11:00 am and we headed home.
