Got an early start again at Fayette. This time had a buddy, ForeverFishing who decided to forgo a salt excursion to get back on the fresh stuff. Got on the water at 3:00 am and noticed no bugs on the water, which wasn’t a good sign. Every time I thought the schoolie bite was going to start, it stopped. But every time FF thought the bite was dead, he caught one.

Rigged up with 15lb to prevent those breakoffs. However, I did have one. You can almost feel when a fish has the hook in such a position that the line is going to be rubbing against their teeth. And my thumb can attest those teeth can be very sharp. Most of the fish caught before dawn.

One of the two I managed while trolling the t-rigged:

Off the water at 10. Ended up with 14, FF was pushing 10, with about that many misses. Fishing is great but always better with a friend.

Buzzards didn't bother the SUV, but we had to be careful when loading because the bugs did eventually show up at Park Prairie.

Great job! Also went Sat/Sun and tore them up 1st hour in the morning. Saw a couple of yaks on the water Sat and Sun and looked like it was pretty tough getting around in the wind. You the man!

Those "bugs" were thick as paint on the levee.

Thanks. The wind was blowing harder than what the forecast said but we were able to manage. Just couln't fish a couple of places we wanted to. Wish the water was higher would have made the grass bite better.

It's hard to describe the fun I had throwing a frog at all those bass. It's extremly challenging getting them hooked and pulling them out of the super thick cover after watching them totally explode on the bait. Some came completely out of the water on both Horny Toads and Spro's. Super fun and wish I could spend more time throwing frogs at other species. What A Blast!

Missed more than I hooked but left them biting.

Good Fishin with you Dale!

Those were some nice chunks. They didn't look that big on your camera screen! Awesome and can't wait to hit it again.

If the forecasters say 5-10, you can count on 10-15. It's @$#%hard holding a boat in one spot when you're trying to fish the back of a cove or a grass mat. That Talon is looking more and more tempting!
