It's blowing 20mph here today, with gusts above. Really wanted to get out because the temps are nice, and it is fixing to get really cold for Thanksgiving.

Just wondering.

If you don't HAVE to, and when do we REALLY have to, I wouldn't. If you're in a tourney and "HAVE" to go out, then exercise EXTREME caution with your abilities and your boat. Just fun fishing....no I wouldn't go out. Just bundle up a little more when it gets cold. thumb

It depends on the lake. Livingston is a bear over 10mph. They fished the TBF Top 6 on Livingston today and the boat my son was in speared a wave and it loosened the rod saver and the other guy lost 4 curados and a chronarch on 5 high dollar rods as a result.

I'm pretty much out once it gets above 15 mph.
It's just no fun having to stay on the trolling motor all the time and stuff.

Depends on the lake, wind direction, gusts or sustained.
Also consider running the sheltered side shoreline or possibly trailer if allowed.

I've got a 20ft Champion. If I know there are fish to be caught, almost no amount of wind can keep me off the lake.

I wouldn't get on Falcon in winds over 10 mph. There are some spots that are protected but getting to them can be scary. Especially now that she's at full pool!!!

Does not matter... I am prepared to battle high winds if needed. I have speared waves and made game plans for those situations. It does suck but that is what we deal with when we do what we love....

The answer to the question??? My limit would probably be 40 mph constant and then hopefully TD would allow trailering or i am SMART ENOUGH to trailer to somewhere protected or home....

I was at grapevine today around noon. I was the only vehicle in the boat ramp area period.

Man was it surfs up out there!

I didn't go to far, dropped the trolling motor and then my plug fried with in 1 minute so had to call it a day. Guess it was a sign to go home

You won't be fishing at Falcon very much in that case! LOL! 10 mph would be a blessing! I have problems when it's about 20-25, above that, forget it. Even at 25 mph I won't be on the main lake if I can help it!

I've been the victim of that. Past 15 anywhere is enough for me but Falcon is just nasty out in the open. Big Tex an Big Blue are pretty angry with wind also

I`m not sure I really have a limit. I`ll just go to the side of the lake that the wind is coming from. Although, I did hit Roberts earlier this year when the winds were 40 mph and gusting to 60. Wasn`t that bad till we decided to come out of Indian and head back to the ramp. 5-6` waves 3/4 of the way. The boat handled it fine. It just took a while at a fast idle.
