Go with Sure Shot. I consistently hear that Danny King's is not the same bait that it once was. Sure Shot catches fish. Do a search here on TTF and you'll find a lot of happy customers.

I always hear conflicting reports about DK punch bait! Some say the "new" stuff is no good. Others say the "new" stuff is terrific! Some say the old stuff and the new stuff are the same. Some don't use either and herald various other brands.

I don't think there has EVER been a definitive explanation about the Danny King transfer of formula to another company and said company getting the procedure correct or getting it wrong. Everything seems to be "well, I heard....." or "..If you ask me...."......ad infinitum.

Maybe someone can post an answer backed up with facts rather than testimonials about how......"thet there new DK jist washes rite off'n the hook and don't ketch nothin' no how!" Or words similar to that.

It works great bank fishing at gibbons creek resevior in Carlos Tx. But other than there I haven't had any luck with it anywhere else.

I bankfish at Bardwell, and on two separate weekends I used DK on one weekend, and sureshot on the other. I got good bites on both, but the sureshot bites were definitely more aggressive. The DK stayed on the hook pretty well, the sureshot stays on better. Both of them seem to lose their funk after about 10-20 minutes, the sureshot has more fibers in it, but the nasty washes away and leaves a wad of fuzz on the hook that doesn't do much. In my opinion, if I have both, I use the sureshot, but DK will do fine if that is what's available.

You are correct and the new owner lives right down the road from me. Plus Danny is helping him get started and this guy will listen to Danny.

Lewis King, Danny King brother still makes the original flavor the family started many years ago. We have carried and used both but the Lewis King is the better bait less filler.

You won't be able to buy it directly from him. He will only be selling it to wholesellers. He won't even be selling to large retailers like wa-mart.
