im a braid guy. i prefer powerpro around 20-25lb works great especially when you need to horse them out of cover. alot of people say it'll slip on your reel but using a few turns of mono as backing before you spool up with braid fixes that. braid also adds more line capacity if your reel cant hold a decent amount of heavier line. hope this helps.

i have gone to stren sonic braid for my frogs. it seems more pliable and lays on the reel better then the spiderwire stealth I have used for many years.

For jigs, I use seaguar flouro. I tried carbon pro(seaguar) last weekend and really liked it. I tie a polamar knot on the hook, then cut both tag ends off and push it around to where the hook eye has the opening(where it was bent around to touch the hook shank). Then I tie another polamar knot to fish with. This keeps your main knot from sliding around to that spot and cutting it. seems to work great for me.

Braid for me. Extra sensitive and plenty of power to get the bass out of structure.

Powerpro is good stuff. I switched to it from another braid a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. I use it for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, sometimes for jigs and soft plastics if the cover is thick.

I have been dialing in the ins-and-outs of chatterbait fishing over the past year and have found that 15lb Seaguar Abrazx on a Dobyns 734 is sufficient for most applications. As cover dictates, I sometimes bump up to 20lb Seaguar Abrazx with a Dobyns 764 or 735.

I won A LOT of money on these set ups this year.
