I'm going down to Houston this weekend and on Saturday I will be making the trek to Galveston. Actually I don't care where I fish! Typically I just fish the rock groins but I really enjoy wade fishing. Like Dakrnjojo said any tips would be welcomed.

Sweet! I check the weather for saturday and it suppose to be like 70ish with 9mph winds...sounds fishy to me. Should I go to sea wolf park? Or check something else out?

I have been catching em all week on the galveston ship channel. Check out Sea Wolf park. Dont pay to go in there though. Park your car on the shoulder where you see all the other cars parked and walk down the mud road to the ship channel. You should get your limit there relatively easily. gulp shrimp have worked well as well as jigs tipped with mullet and mud minnows. Wade out to the edge of the channel. You will see a line of people out there so dont worry about trying to figure out where to go. Its not hard out there.

Sandy, do you use a carolina rig with the gulp shrimp? Also, how do u work the bait? Do u just drag it slowly on the bottom?

I used Gulp shrimp for the first time this past weekend in Copano Bay. I tried carolina rigging and had no success. I switched to a jighead with hook exposed and did fine with that setup. I simply twitched it slowly on the bottom with my rod tip up. It's amazing how trout will continiously hit it even if it's not moving. Really good bait in my opinion.

Get a Tri way peice from good ole walmart or whereever .. .and Tie a Gulp Shad on a 1 oz jig head on one side with about 8 inches of 12 lb monofilament line and a regular 1/0 circle hook on about 12 inces of the same monofilament ... tie other end to your line ... and you are ready .. of course use finger mullet or mud minows on the 1/0 hook ... I prefer the mud minows because they stay alive MUCH MUCH LONGER then the Mullet and flounder prefer live bait ... that and the live bait keeps my jig in motion even when sitting still. SHHHHHH trade secret.

November Flounder Limit is 2. Also possession and daily bag limit are the same at 2. Goes back to 5 in December. Hardly worth the effort for 2.
