Went to surfside jetty lastnight. Didnt catch a single thing on live mullets and shrimp. We even had cut mullet for bull reds. It was a bad night of fishing. Even lost my $100 reel!

I've been there myself and got skunked. I get the impression surfside jetty's suck about 95% of the time. Maybe I'm wrong.
Doesn't make sense, does it?

surfside jetties is one of those place that everything need to be perfect to catch fish.

twin..i have been fishing at surfside for about 5-7 yrs now, what i use is called the lemon rig heres a video on how it works.

this rig will allow you to fish anywhere from 4-9 ft of water depend on how deep you want to fish.

Went this morning. Rain were pouring for about 30min then stopped. No bite on sinker setup for 6 hours but during that time we max our limit on smack. Their medium to large size. Another solo elder Vietnamese man next to us also maxed out before giving us the left over bait. Also 2 big angel like fish were caught. Dont know the name of that fish but I heard its call angel fish but not sure.... Really good fry.

I use a swivel with lock snap on main line. My made floater line is only around 2-3 inch long. I attach both floater and leader/hook to the lock snap swivel. I do like the same length on a 3 way swivel but doesnt it get tangle a lots?

Fishing Frenzy. That's good news. I thought smacks must be pushed further south by the cold front. What bait did you use for smacks, live shrimp/mullet? Did you buy or net your own baits? Thanks.

Using medium/small live shrimp. We brought it at the shop to the right before the bridge.

Water look really nice tomorrow. Hopefully I can go tonight or tomorrow to fish.

Bring raincoat with pant and a big outdoor umbrella and no rain will stand in your way to catch fish.

ps: bring some dry cloth and leave it in the car.

Just curious, where do you find the water color information? Any web sites to check?

Gonna be pretty cold and rainy. Bring your waders and jackets and a spare pair of cloths. Good luck
