Minor electrical question here. I have three 15 watt solar panels that I am mounting on top of the roof. Problem is the wires coming from the panels are only 11 feet long so I need to extend them about another 10 feet before they can reach the regulator and battery. The 11 foot wires that are provided with the panels look to be about 16 gauge, maybe 14. So can I just match the 16 gauge or do I need to go thicker with a 12 or so since I am adding length? Max watts is 15 per panel. Max watts is 23. Max current is 3000mA. I am guessing that since we are talking mA here that the 16 gauge wire should be fine but I figured I would get some opinions. Thanks.

I am not an electrician, but the wattage passing through those is less than a lot of audio speakers, so I would think what you are suggesting would be more than enough.
